An
avid doodler, Carol’s writing journey began like many writers – through
reading and the love of story. She is a ritualistic journaler, and never
without a novel, short story collection, or memoir tucked under her
arm. She’s grateful for her many writing mentors and teachers, including
Authors Carol Henderson,
Angela-Davis
Gardner and Peggy Payne
– all who continue to lead her in her writing work.
Carol relocated to North Carolina in 1998. She was told that “you can’t spit in this state without hitting a writer”, to which she replied, “thank goodness”. North Carolina has a rich network of writers and an abundance of opportunities for growth and support.
