Carol Cooley is an essayist and short story author. Her work has appeared in numerous anthologies and magazines, including collections by Creative Nonfiction, SUNY Press, and New Rivers Press. She is currently working on her first novel.

Carol was awarded a 2014 writing residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. An artist community located in Amherst, Virginia, the VCCA has attracted renowned artists working at the top of their powers, along with talented younger artists at the beginning of their professional careers.
